There are only 2 basic emotions that we experience. Love and Fear.
Every other emotion that you experience is invariably a combination of the two.
When you hate someone/something, it is because you still love them or it. But the hated party has caused you to feel insecure in some way or the other. After having being dumped by your girlfriend, she has exposed you to your insecurity of not being with anyone/her. When you cannot solve math sums, you hate it because you fear failing at it.
Love on the other hand can be simple love, respect worship etc. It helps you see things as they are. A person who is truly in love will see exactly what he is in love with. Love does not blind you. It removes all blinds, it removes all bias. It allows you to see.
We see everything with an aim of success or failure. This is an ideal platform for fear to creep in. We attribute success and failure finally to the difference between being alive and being dead. As soon as fear creeps we can only see a shadow of the reality depending on how deeply we are gripped by it. This is clear in the case of people gripped by phobias. They are unable to see reality as it is. Fear grips them. They see illusions.
When religious texts ask you to worship the Lord, this is what they mean. By Lord they mean everything that is around you and beyond. By Lord they mean the Universe and beyond. By Lord they mean the opposite of nothing, that is everything. They call the infinite as the Lord.
When you are told to worship the Lord what they are asking of you, is to see reality as it is. They are asking you to stop being afraid, and stop convincing yourself that you are different from everything in the universe. They are asking you to realise you are a part of Everything. They are asking you to love. They are asking you to see.

Some thoughts
I was playing tennis today as usual. Seeing how Federer plays, how he watches the ball till the very end, how his knees bend before every stroke, how his body rotates to give him the power, I try to implement these in my game.
But then I realised that I was not playing tennis, but thinking about playing tennis. My thoughts were observing whether I was watching the ball till the very end, rather than watching the ball till the very end. I realised that 'I' was at the centre of every thought of mine. How will talking to this person benifit me? How will doing this work affect me? How should I hit the ball?
I think as long as I consider me to be distinct from everything else, I will always look at things this way. It is when I " fall into a state of love" that my mind will be truly on my actions. I need to become the tennis ball, I need to become the person I want to love.
We are in an illusion when we think that, there is 'I' and there is the universe. This thought occurs because of an innate fear in us that is afraid of dying. We do not want things to end, we believe that if we can do some things we will be able to avoid dying. The "fear" is the "evil daemon" that Descartes talks about. It creates an illusion of how the universe is. We become incapable of seeing it for what it is.

Thoughts about UK
I have stayed in Bath for the past month and a bit. I shall try to pen down the most striking features of this place.
1. The people in this university work way harder than the people in IIT. The dedication to their projects is really commendable. It almost seems unfair that people in IIT are valued higher than people here. It can be argued that people in IIT are by birth much brighter than people here, but still I think people should be valued by not they are capable of but what they are trying to become capable of. More on this in some later post.
2. People here are extremely polite as compared to people back in India, but they also always maintain a certain distance. I have found it very hard to get really friendly with anyone. It is of course possible that I am an anti- soical person and that I lack self awareness, but there is certainly some difference between the people here and the ones back home.
It is also possible that they like to mix among people of their own race. I have heard Indian students living here for years condemning the "whites" as "haraamis". In fact I have found that it is easier to mix with other immigrants here, like the ones from Italy, Greece , France, and other asian countries.
3. Everything is extremely expensive.
No. That does not do enough justice to how expensive things here are. I have to explain this in detail.
Details of London trip
Period of stay: Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
Expenses: 1. Travel---Coach from Bath to London= 22 pounds
Tubes=20 pounds
2. Food---- Friday Night Indian Thali= 10 pounds
Saturday=14 pounds
Sunday= 7 pounds
3. Tourism-- Tourist bus- 22 pounds
London eye + madame tussauds- 35 pounds
4. Acco- Luckily I stayed with my friend but costs come up to 18 pounds a night.
So that adds up to 130 pounds for 2 days in London, which is about 10,400 rupees.
People talk about how India is poor and UK and US are rich. Goverments talk about plans to end the vicious circle of poverty and unemployment. I have given this subject some thought and could not find any good solution until I came to London and realised how they do it. They just allow the rich to survive. "Kill the poor, I say" seems to be the motto and dear me do they follow it.
4. The women here are too hot. Its just so unfair that all the hot women have been put in europe and america, and none ,except any Indian female reading this, in India.
5. It is extremely easy to get laid. Just go to a bar. (personal experience!! :P).
